Statement of Approach to Nursing Practice
The mission of The Unfiltered Project PLLC. is global engagement with the art and science of meditation. Engagement with this mission will lead to the collective realization of the vision: paradise (Revelation 21:4). However, the underlying motivation for every action is prevention and alleviation of distress in Black women throughout the African Diaspora.
It starts with you, Beloved Sojourner.

At The Unfiltered Project PLLC, our grand intention is for each participant to flourish immensely. We call our participants "Beloved Sojourners" to acknowledge the complexities of our journey towards selfhood, embracing each movement with divinely inspired grace.
Flourishing, from positive psychology, communicates the process of becoming or embodying eudaimonic well-being—a purpose-filled sense of being. This purpose is key in each person's quest for the soul, supported by mindfulness meditation and yoga.
Our practice is informed by the tradition of yoga, aiming for self-actualization and being firmly established in awareness. As a Beloved Sojourner myself, I strive to engage my lived experience with non-judgment and clarity, holding space for others on similar journeys.

Personally focused on embodying gentleness, I hold your lived experience with tenderness. My fascination with the heart, or Anāhata, aligns with my names' meanings—Charity (agape) and Lackey (servant). My belief in Jesus guides my commitment to integrative health care.
With extensive training in nursing science, my primary concern is your ability to practice self-care, beyond pop culture's simplifications. Our sessions involve intentional dialogue about your health concerns and co-designing strategies to alleviate and prevent distress.
We embrace Black Feminist Autoethnography, an anthropological method by Zora Neale Hurston, to inform our engagement with society. This practice involves assessing and reflecting on encounters with oppression, providing insights from deep reflection and compassion.
We offer 1:1 or 1:2 self-care strategy packages to design a detailed self-care portfolio, including vision development, goal setting, action steps, and regular check-ins. Additionally, we host seasonal 8-week yoga classes and workshops on self-care and mental health.
